Ticking and Lace

Did you know that ticking fabric, used to make pillowcases has the stripes running through the fabric and some modern ticking has the stripes just painted onto the surface?

I found this traditional ticking in Horsham and it will be used for bags. The long length of old lace I saw in a charity shop where they were selling it as a scarf for £3. It is very beautiful and I hope to put it to good use as embellishment.
